The familiar holiday pop-up shop selling Fraser firs has opened under red striped tents on Federal Highway at Yamato Road.

This year, Hart-T-Farms added online orders, curbside pick-up and business delivery to the inventory of 145 trees, said Shana and Rodney Lyle, lot managers. They expect to sell 1,600 trees by Christmas Eve.

The family owned business has a second Boca location at Spanish River High School on Jog and Yamato roads.  Hours at both tents are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The lots sell 2- or 3-foot trees to 15-plus footers, plus stands, tree water devices, spray snow, preserver and tree bags for post holiday cleanup. “To stay fresh, wreaths are expected in early December,” Lyle said. Tree prices range from $30 to $950, “the same as last year,” he added. Wreaths are $30 undecorated or $35 with a bow.

“We’re full service. Once you select your tree, you pay for it and we take it to the baling table and ask how much off you want off the bottom to fit on your stand,” he said.

Christmas tree shopping is the one holiday tradition people can still safety do, said Cristy Stewart-Harfmann, there for opening day festivities. “We’ll buy an 8-foot tree, and my daughter picks it out,” said Stewart-Harfmann, president of the Junior League of Boca Raton. “We leave it up until January.”

The firs come from the Christmas tree farm in the Blue Ridge mountains in North Carolina. https://www.hartttreefarms.com/ The company has 14 South Florida locations and an office in Pompano Beach.
