In the Community
Hart-T-Tree Farms believes a business should give back to its community.
Hart-T-Tree Farms is a proud sponsor of organizations in Ashe County, North Carolina and the surrounding area.
Imagination Ashe
Imagination Ashe is our local, Ashe County, North Carolina provider of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Started by Dolly Parton in her home state of Tennessee, the Imagination Library is a unique book gifting program for children under five years of age. Every month from birth until the child turns five, they get a free, age-appropriate book, personally addressed to them, delivered through the mail. This creates a special moment of excitement and encourages children to have a love of books and enthusiasm for reading and learning. Currently, Imagination Ashe sponsors over 500 children each month. Hart-T-Tree Farms has been an enthusiastic supporter of Imagination Ashe since its foundation. Hart-T-Tree Farms owner, Kathy Chefas, is a past President of the Imagination Ashe Executive Board.
The New River Conservancy
The second oldest river in the world, the New River winds its way through three states and countless communities who have depended on its bounty for generations. The New River Conservancy protects it and ensures that the waters that feed it are clean; that the land supports vibrant plants and animals; and that the communities that rely on it are passionate and empowered advocates for a healthy New River. Hart-T-Tree Farms partners with the New River Conservancy on land conservation projects as well as contributes financially to their various initiatives. Hart-T-Tree Farms owner Carrie McClain serves on the board of the New River Conservancy.
Western Youth Network
Western Youth Network (WYN) is a relationship-focused resource for at-risk youth in the High Country. Through prevention and intervention programs, WYN specializes in providing youth with the tools they need to reach their potential and discover their place in our world. Hart-T-Tree Farms supports WYN by donating Christmas trees and supplies to their annual fundraising event The Festival of Trees.
