In the Community
Hart-T-Tree Farms believes a business should give back to its community.
Since we have operations in North Carolina and Florida, we support organizations and iniatives in both Ashe County, North Carolina and south Florida. We feel that we have a responsibility to share resources with our global community as well.
Florida
Over the years, Hart-T-Tree Farms has worked with a variety of south Florida organizations to help them raise money for various projects and programs by sponsoring a Christmas tree lot. Christmas tree lot sponsors include the Big Bike Riders Children’s Foundation, the Boca Raton Sunrise Kiwanis, the Broward Health Foundation, Park Ridge Baptist Church, the Second Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale, and Spanish River High School.
Big Bike Riders Children’s Foundation
Big Bike Riders Children’s Foundation is a group of motorcycle enthusiasts that love to raise funds and in-kind donations for south Florida children’s charities. Their goal? Create smiles on the faces of children and organizations they serve. Hart-T-Tree Farms has worked with the Big Bike Riders Children’s Foundation for over five years. They sponsor multiple Christmas tree lots each year to raise money for their partner organizations, kicking off the season with a Christmas Tree Ride to all of the tree lots that they sponsor.
Broward Health Foundation
The Broward Health Foundation is the fundraising arm of Broward Health, one of the ten largest public healthcare systems in the nation. The mission of the Broward Health Foundation is to improve the health of the community by providing resources to promote, support, and enhance the programs and initiatives of Broward Health. Each year, the Broward Health Foundation works with Hart-T-Tree Farms to sponsor a tree lot to raise money for their various projects.
North Carolina
Hart-T-Tree Farms is a proud sponsor of organizations in Ashe County, North Carolina and the surrounding area.
Imagination Ashe
Imagination Ashe is our local, Ashe County, North Carolina provider of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Started by Dolly Parton in her home state of Tennessee, the Imagination Library is a unique book gifting program for children under five years of age. Every month from birth until the child turns five, they get a free, age-appropriate book, personally addressed to them, delivered through the mail. This creates a special moment of excitement and encourages children to have a love of books and enthusiasm for reading and learning. Currently, Imagination Ashe sponsors over 500 children each month. Hart-T-Tree Farms has been an enthusiastic supporter of Imagination Ashe since its foundation. Hart-T-Tree Farms owner, Kathy Chefas, is a past President of the Imagination Ashe Executive Board.
The New River Conservancy
The second oldest river in the world, the New River winds its way through three states and countless communities who have depended on its bounty for generations. The New River Conservancy protects it and ensures that the waters that feed it are clean; that the land supports vibrant plants and animals; and that the communities that rely on it are passionate and empowered advocates for a healthy New River. Hart-T-Tree Farms partners with the New River Conservancy on land conservation projects as well as contributes financially to their various initiatives. Hart-T-Tree Farms owner Carrie McClain serves on the board of the New River Conservancy.
Western Youth Network
Western Youth Network (WYN) is a relationship-focused resource for at-risk youth in the High Country. Through prevention and intervention programs, WYN specializes in providing youth with the tools they need to reach their potential and discover their place in our world. Hart-T-Tree Farms supports WYN by donating Christmas trees and supplies to their annual fundraising event The Festival of Trees.
Our Global Community
Hart-T-Tree Farms believes it’s not only important to support our local communities, but our global community as well.
Faith Harvest Helpers
Faith Harvest Helpers is an interdenominational non-profit Christian ministry dedicated to feeding hungry people both locally and globally. Beginning in 2009, Hart-T-Tree Farms partnered with Faith Harvest Helpers to help sell beautiful, handmade pelotas made by the Mayan women in the mountains of Guatemala. Many of these women have been abandoned by their husbands or widowed and are raising their children alone. They began making these ornaments as a way to work at home and support their families. It takes all day to make one pelota and the sale of it here in the United States provides enough food for two days. The sale of the pelotas through Hart-T-Tree Farms in a single Christmas season pays for 42,000 lbs of food to be shipped to the Mayan villages in Guatemala. If you’re on one of our retail lots, make sure to check out these exquisite Christmas ornaments.
